Crazy it’s 2016 already, one month down to boot!

3 02 2016

SO, it is already 2016 and we have made it through 1/12 of the year already! It’s been a few years since I’ve posted, not to much have changed, but a ton has changed. Quick recap: still a family unit of 3, no longer own a home as we have been shacked up with the in-laws for over 7 months now, Elizabeth is still the best wife, Sophia is a model daughter.

I’m going to do my best to post more often, use this more than the other social media devil sites and keep folks up to date on the real happenings of our family.

We are homeless. Sold the house in Carencro in late June 2015 and needed a lay over spot quickly as the house sold in 3 days, so the gracious in-laws opened their doors, and we haven’t looked back since. It has been an “easy” 7 months really. No major fights or issues, just some growing pains and adjustments to living under one roof and using one bathroom again! Two women and a little lady sure do put us two guys in line on time on the thrown ;). We manage. Anyways, spring is in the air, we are going to explore options on homes that come up on the market this spring, or look to build….we guess!

Peace, Love and Chicken Grease!

Christmas 2013 wrap up

28 12 2013

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. We went to church with my parents, Elizabeth and I only got to enjoy half a mass each, but hey whatcha gonna do with a 21 month old! Had great gumbo by dad that evening and fun talking with Liz and the kids at the table. Gifts were over the top and not deserved, but much appreciated. Went to the Fontenot’s on Christmas Day, discovered more gifts that will bless our lil family. Then the extended gang came over for some delicious pork and corn macshoe that was made by the king of the house.

We are now enjoying the time off as three, and doing as much or as little as we want to!

Happy New Years everyone!

Mid-week update

5 12 2013

So Sophia came down with the flu late Monday evening. We caught it very early and she seems to be doing ok. Elizabeth took off Tuesday, Myrt took off today, I’m working from home tomorrow and mom will be watching Sophia in the morning Friday! Sick kids can sure throw off a regular work schedule! Elizabeth and I are on Tamaflu, Elizabeth had the shot also, I of course am late to greeting mine. Hopefully this weekend she will feel better and we can do Christmas activities!

Thanksgiving 2013

29 11 2013

We had a good COLD day out at the Fontenots. Sophia had a blast playing in the leaves all day and Elizabeth enjoyed some great company. I on the other hand was down all day on their couch with a Bad Bad Sinus infection. Went to walk in, got a shot and Rx. So check out these photos of Sophia!

First Hunt…ever!

27 09 2013

Today was my first ever hunt. I was treated by Brent Sawyer and Robbie Ferguson at their camp in Lake Arthur, La. Boy do they know how to take care of someone!

We did two hunts, morning and evening. The evening was full of birds but we killed more in the morning. They said it is a slow season and we ended up with 11 today. I shot 4!!! Held my own with seasoned pros! One more hunt in the morning, wish us luck!

No Chicken Pox!!! That is all for tonight!

Wow, 11 months later..

23 09 2013

So it’s been nearly a year since the last entry and the saying time flies is so true! Sophia has grown so big and she brings joy to Elizabeth and I every time we look at her! Elizabeth switched jobs and now is working in Lafayette parish at SJ Montgomery. The switch has been tough to say the least.

We are getting excited for the fall and especially the weather! Last weekend was the first fall weekend of the year!

On a downer note, gotta bring Sophia in to the dr today, bumps that look like chicken pox. Keep y’all posted!
